Return Policy
The Audio Distillery does not sell audio, lighting, or video equipment. We are a professional rental company providing temporary use of equipment and production systems for events, installations, and live productions.
Because we do not sell merchandise, we do not have a traditional return policy.
Cancellation Policy
To reserve equipment, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable if the rental is canceled at least 7 days (1 week) prior to the scheduled rental start date.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the rental start date are not eligible for a refund of the deposit.
Payment Policy
All rentals must be paid in full with cleared funds at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled release or pickup of the rental equipment. Equipment will not be released until the balance has been fully paid.
Insurance Requirements for Equipment Rentals
To protect both parties and ensure responsible handling of professional AV equipment, The Audio Distillery requires customers to maintain insurance coverage for certain rental values. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming The Audio Distillery as Additional Insured and Loss Payee is required when rental value thresholds are met.
Rentals Under $10,000
No COI is required. A signed rental agreement and valid credit card authorization are sufficient to reserve and release the equipment.
Rentals Between $10,000 and $50,000
A Certificate of Insurance must be provided prior to release of equipment. Coverage requirements include:
- General Liability: Minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate
- Equipment Coverage: “Rented Equipment,” “Rented from Others,” or “Inland Marine” coverage equal to or exceeding replacement value
- Additional Insured & Loss Payee: The Audio Distillery must be named on the policy
Rentals Over $50,000
For higher-value systems and full production packages, enhanced coverage is required:
- General Liability: Minimum $2,000,000 per occurrence
- Equipment Coverage: Replacement value of all rented gear
- Policy Type: Must include coverage for “Rented from Others,” “Inland Marine,” or equivalent
- Additional Insured & Loss Payee: The Audio Distillery must be listed
- Certificate Submission: COI must be received and approved prior to release of any equipment
Clients are encouraged to maintain year-round rental coverage when working regularly with professional AV vendors. The Audio Distillery can provide a sample COI form upon request to streamline the process with your insurance provider.
